Akio Ohmori
This exhibition commemorates the publication of "Wood and Language - The Sculptor's Works and Language" by Akio Ohmori. More than a dozen wood sculptures and bronzes will be exhibited.

The book, which will be published on Wednesday, June 7, is a photo essay of the sculptor's work and language. “Kotoba" is a word coined by the author, meaning "the naves of language cut from the body" in his own creative activities, and is compared to the "wood chips" scattered in the process of chiseling the original wood to carve the work.

One of the passages in the book says, "I like people, animals, and things that give me a glimpse of their stories, roots, and backgrounds. Omori's sculptures seem to come to life through his careful research into the motifs he likes to use. The works featured in the book range from large sculptures and mirror images to everyday objects such as tables, lamps, and belt buckles.

This exhibition celebrates the publication of the book by showcasing more than 10 of his wood sculptures and bronzes.
