This exhibition marks the first joint display by sisters Marii Okada, who creates paintings and murals based in Ladakh, India, and Anri Okada, who produces paintings, ceramics, and murals based in Mexico.
The exhibition title "Dawn" signifies the beginning of things or the "dawn" of each new day, embodying the theme of this exhibition: "the beginning of a story." The two sisters, who spent their childhood together, share several commonalities. They both create works with a narrative quality that blends reality and fantasy and draws inspiration from mythology, travel, and daily life while working abroad.
In this exhibition, Marii Okada will present new paintings created on Indian handmade paper, while Anri Okada will showcase new and recent ceramic works produced in Mexico and Japan.
