The Ina Valley refers to a part of the Nanshin region of Nagano Prefecture surrounded by the Southern and Central Alps, where the Tenryu River, flowing from Lake Suwa in the north and merging with water from the surrounding mountains, flows southward, and the southern edge of the region is surrounded by a steep valley called Tenryu Gorge, which makes up the center of the region.

In the Tale of Genji, the name of the scroll is "Somiki (broom wood) of Sonohara", and in modern times, salt produced in Ohama and Tanao villages was sent to Iida and Ina by Yahagigawa River water transportation and Nakama, which had a relationship with Hekinan City.

In the Meiji period (1868-1912), Tessai Tomioka visited the nearby ruins twice, and Iida is also the birthplace of Shunso Hishida, who laid the foundation of modern Japanese-style painting.

This exhibition is composed of works by 20 artists who were selected by art researchers, curators, and gallerists from the Kinki and Tokai regions, as well as the Ina Valley, and whose works were inspired by the unique climate (climate and topography), lifestyle, history, and culture of this region. This is a contemporary art exhibition that provides an opportunity for the exhibiting artists, viewers, and intermediaries to deepen mutual exchange and create something new.
