Artists

Kouzo Takeuchi, Kunihiro Akinaga
Kunihiro Akinaga and Kouzo Takeuchi, who were classmates in the ceramics course at Osaka University of Arts, recall their student days. The fact that they were able to build a relationship as artists, rather than just classmates, was a valuable asset in supporting each other's creative activities. Even today, when they are both working as independent artists, they say that each other's presence is one of the important motivations for their creative activities.

"Reunion" is derived from the fact that two classmates, Akinaga and Takeuchi, share a space. At any given time, about 10 artists are living and working together at the Ceramic Cultural Park Residence. Akinaga and Takeuchi's sincere attitude toward their work must have aroused the creativity of the artists who shared the same time with them. This is one of the most important aspects of the residency program.
