Arts & Crafts and Design: From William Morris to Frank Lloyd Wright

Niihama City Museum of Art
Finished
Post-Industrial Britain shifted towards mass production and consumption, causing a decline in artisanal craftspersonship and labor pride. William Morris (1834-1896) formed a trading company with friends to revive medieval English handicrafts, sparking the global Arts and Crafts Movement. The exhibition features about 170 works, including pieces by William Morris and Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959), and showcases this movement's impact. It also explores the movement's influence in Glasgow through the Higurashi Villa and architect Magoichi Noguchi (1869-1915).
