Asuka Irie - Ukiyo-e Connects Edo and Modern Times

Nakagawa-machi Bato Hiroshige Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Asuka Irie
Asuka Irie (1980-) is an artist who uses a unique technique of copperplate collage and watercolor depiction. Her works are often reminiscent of ukiyo-e, with their vivid blue blurring and depiction of swirling waves, creating a mysterious world in a single piece that seems to interweave the contemporary with the past. This exhibition will introduce Asuka Irie's world by simultaneously displaying ukiyo-e from the Edo period, which influenced her work, and linking the Edo period to the present day.
