This solo exhibition is Ayano Yoshida's third at Hideharu Fukasaku Gallery Roppongi.
Yoshida, who has been working on the theme of "people's shells," uses motifs such as worn-out pocketbooks, discarded clothes, and rooms whose owners have disappeared to scoop up the traces of their owners' existence and behavior and incorporate them into her works. Yoshida's approach to production is in line with the ancient Japanese belief that gods and spirits reside in tools that have been used for a long time.
The exhibition will feature works with a massive matiere that overwhelms the viewer.
