"Threads of Being" is Azu Kimura's first short film exhibition. The protagonist of this film is the Jorō spider (Trichonephila clavata), which is active fromspring to autumn and reaches its maximum size, both in terms of body and web, during the autumn breeding season.During this period, Jorō spiders actively hunt and have a habit of removing unnecessary objects such as fallen leaves thatget caught in their webs. This work was filmed by taking advantage of these behavioral characteristics of the Jorō spider. While focusing on the spider's cognitive abilities, this piece captures moments where the perceptual worlds of different species intersect with our own.
