Babu
Babu has developed various forms of expression that are not bound by titles. His work can be described as that of a skater, a graffiti writer, a sculptor, an artist, and so on. However, Babu does not strictly fit into any of these categories, and the artists around him have recognized him as a one-of-a-kind existence that can only be described as Babu.
His work freely moves between media and techniques, including video, graffiti, painting, sculpture, installation, and tattooing. They all have the background of the street culture of Kitakyushu, where Babu has lived since childhood, and express the street spirit. This exhibition will explore this aspect of Babu as an artist. Approximately 40 new two-dimensional and three-dimensional works will be presented.
In conjunction with the exhibition, a collaborative work by Kyne and Babu, artists who have long been in contact with each other, will also be exhibited.
