Branching Out explores the intersections of labor, craft, and technology using Uchiyama washi. Both artists invited community participation and amassed communal memories of the landscape for the exhibition. Themes of forgotten and re-emerging labor, collective knowledge, and the delicate balance between industrial advancement and decay are visualized in mixed media sculpture and paper artworks.
