Cally Tan
This is the first solo exhibition of young contemporary artist Carrie Tan. Tan was born in 1998 and is a graduate student at Tama Art University's Graduate School of Textile Design. While researching materials and techniques of dyeing and weaving, she creates works using textile materials used in everyday life.

In "The Lovely, Perceived," she focuses on her recent works in which she gives poetic forms and roles to objects that are not usually paid attention to. In the process of creating this exhibition, Tan says that the motifs she observes in her daily life have appeared, become visible, and have been guided by these objects. The lighter in the shape of a sheep, the salad on the lawn, and the rain-soaked pockets presented in this exhibition are the embodiment of the artist's abstract expressions and thoughts in the form of artworks by borrowing the vitality of such objects. The exhibition is also an attempt to recover the relationship with consumption.
