Casual Vol.4: Tokyo

UltraSuperNew Kura
Finished
CASAUL VOL four: Tokyo is a curated collection of artists from various mediums based in Tokyo.

Largely a photographic experience, this fourth edition features 49 artists and explores the creative process by documenting individuals within their studio. Examining lifestyle, ethos, inspirations and the unique perspectives of Tokyo’s creative community. From painters to photographers, designers, illustrators, sculptors and more. This platform is designed as a form of catalog for emerging and established talent within the city, an intimate reflection of the artistic mentality harboured within Tokyo.
As Mike’s passion project, this edition follows ones created in London, Sáo Paulo and Barcelona in a continued effort to document creativity around the world, exploring the distinctive traits which make our communities unique yet connects us on common ground.

Having started in 2017 by chance in Sydney, Australia. Mike was documenting various artists and realised similarities in their work, often a result of their culture, climate, community or any local influence which connected them. After discovering this Mike was curious to explore how these factors effect the creative community and how artists are so gravity effected by local influences.
So here we are, four editions later and hopefully many more to come.
