Chihiro Ichinose
Chihiro Ichinose’s exhibition will be held based on the concept of creating an exhibition with curators who take on new expressions on a daily basis. The exhibition is curated by Tomoyo Sanbonmatsu, who currently works at The Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura & Hayama and has recently been in charge of “Ishida Takashi: Between Tableau and Window” (2024) and “Alec Soth Gathered Leaves” (2022), and most recently, “Wakae Kanji+Joseph Beuys” (2025).

Chihiro Ichinose holds a deep interest in the relationship between image and experience. Her creative practice and research utilize media such as photography, language, and space. For this exhibition, the artist reconsiders her 2015 residency in Berlin and the resulting presentation, “Traces of Light”(2015-16). Through this process, she has produced and will exhibit sculptural multiples and the limited-edition book “About Joseph Beuys”. The resulting space is one manifested through what Ichinose describes as “thinking and feeling about repeatedly returning to the same experience, and about experience changing its form.” This exhibition serves as an opportunity to encounter the images within that space, and to share in that experience.
