Chihiro Komamine
Anime and manga are among Japan's most iconic cultural elements. Chihiro Komamine even says that anime and manga have saved her life.
Komamine creates physical manifestations of the differences in how people perceive a story. She depicts the state of human beings with different values by dismantling stuffed toys of well-known characters, sewing them back together, and using them as motifs to draw on a flat surface. Upon closer inspection, the odd-looking forms of his works reveal themselves to be reassemblages of familiar characters. This exhibition will feature 23 paintings and objects.
