The Gutai Art Association was formed in 1954 in Ashiya, Hyogo Prefecture, as an avant-garde group of artists. Led by the central figure Jiro Yoshihara, the group aimed to discard established concepts and actively engage in various experimental creations to "concretely demonstrate that our spirits are free."
This exhibition will showcase distinctive paperwork from artists previously introduced through the Yoshiaki Inoue Gallery, supplemented by additional pieces from the collection.
