Seiko House Hall
Finished
Seiko House Hall will be holding the "Craftsmanship and Kôgei Creation - Living National Treasures Exhibition" from 4 3 (Thurs) to 20 ( Day ). This exhibition, which is held every spring and brings together works by Important Intangible Cultural Property Holders (Living National Treasures) in 5 craft fields, will mark its 10 anniversary.

"Living National Treasures" is the colloquial term for "holders of important intangible cultural properties." These individuals have honed their craft skills over a long period of time, developed their own unique style, and become leaders in their field.

This time, 39 artists will be exhibiting works from 5 craft fields: ceramics, dyeing and weaving, lacquerware, metalwork, and wood and bamboo work. Although each artist uses different Composition, the "spirit of Japanese crafts" is passed down through the generations in the works, where the artist creates a form of beauty that he or she envisions through repeated dialogue with the material. Japan's craft culture, which has been around for a thousand years, is an important asset not only in Japan but also around the world. Don't miss this opportunity to see a variety of fascinating works that combine advanced techniques passed down through the ages with "beauty of utility" that fits into modern life.
