Artists

Daniel David Freeman
Meet Daniel David Freeman, the first artist-in-residence of our newly announced ’24/’25 season, co-curated with the Tokyo art-book publisher commune.
Straddling fashion, commerce and the gallery world, the London-based artist’s body of work spans from painting and installation to film, animation and all kinds of wearables.
He’ll unveil a new set of graphite and colored-pencil drawings at the Ace Kyoto exhibition called “Character Building.” Drawing on an obsessive exploration into all areas of high and low culture, his abstractly cartoon-like images are meant to question the meaning and importance of beauty.
Join Daniel and the commune team for his gallery reception on Friday, September 6 from 18:00–20:00. Drinks are on us.
