"Neo Hokusai” is an ukiyo-e series by creative unit Enlightenment.

Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) is one of the most internationally known Japanese artists. Hokusai painted a wide variety of works over about 70 years. His bold compositions and bright colors influenced many European artists, including Vincent van Gogh and the musician Claude Debussy. And even today, they are highly acclaimed worldwide.

Enlightenment (1997-) has created “Neo Hokusai," a graphic fusion of ukiyo-e, woodblock prints printed in the Edo period, and computer-generated psychedelic expressions.
