Shibunkaku Ginza has launched "Ginza Curator's Room," a new series of exhibitions featuring guest curators starting in August 2022. This series exhibits "rooms" infused with new charm and value through the eyes of guest curators.

The fourth exhibition, "Repetitive Sphere," will be curated by Junya Yamamine, an independent curator who has worked as a curator at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, and Art Tower Mito. This is a two-person exhibition by Shiryu Morita, who formed the Sumijinkai, a group of avant-garde calligraphers, in 1952 and has been working toward reinterpretation and original expression of calligraphy, and Enrico Isamu Oyama, whose motif "Quick Turn Structure" was born from analysis and reconstruction of aerosol writing, a field of street art.

Although separated by half a century, the two artists have many things in common, such as the relationship between writing and drawing, and between physicality and drawing. This exhibition will present five of Morita's "En" drawings and five new works by Oyama, which are quick-turn structures that seem to respond to the repetition and difference between the two artists’ works.
