This exhibition presents Yi Dynasty white porcelain, Tang Dynasty white porcelain, and Momoyama Period mottled karatsu, all of which were produced for tea ceremonies. Modern masters including Kenkichi Tomimoto and Kazuo Yagi, studied old Oriental ceramics, mastered ceramic techniques, and produced original work with a sense of period. Kyusetsu Miwa, the 11th generation of Shirahagi, is famous for his "Kyusetsu White." The exhibition will showcase various expressions and interpretations of white through "Shiroi Yayakimono," including works by contemporary artists.
