In the "Fifty-Three Stations of the Tokaido Highway," Hiroshige Utagawa depicted the scenery of the Tokaido Highway from Nihonbashi in Edo to Sanjo Ohashi in Kyoto, and various specialties and places of interest associated with each of the stops along the way appear.

This exhibition features three works from Utagawa's Tokaido series: "Tokaido" (Tsutaya version of Tokaido) in Part 1, "Tokaido Gojyusantsugi-no-uchi" (Hoeido version of Tokaido) in Part 2, and "Gojyusantsugi Meisho Tudokai" (Vertical-painted Tokaido) in Part 3, each of which will be on view during a different session. The exhibition will introduce each of the fifty-three stations of the Tokaido as well as the famous landmarks and landmarks depicted in the paintings.
