Feature Exhibition New Acquisitions

Kyoto National Museum
Finished
Every year, the Kyoto National Museum purchases artworks and cultural properties as part of its ongoing efforts to improve its exhibitions and research capabilities. Occasionally, the museum also receives artworks donated by generous individuals. This special exhibition highlights approximately 50 of the most significant objects, spanning various genres, acquired by the museum up through fiscal year 2024. One noteworthy example is Landscape, attributed to the 15th-century Zen monk-painter Shūbun (dates unknown), featuring inscriptions by the eminent Zen priests Kōsei Ryūha (1375?–1446) and Shinden Seiha (1375–1447). This is a must-see exhibition filled with remarkable masterworks.
