Femke Herregraven
Femke Herregraven (born 1982 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, lives and works in Amsterdam) is an up-and-coming artist examining abstract data about contemporary financial technology and infrastructure, their meaning and ecological impact, and creates unique images using a variety of cross-genre and cross-disciplinary methods of expression.

This exhibition will be a rare opportunity to present her work in Japan for the first time, centered on the internationally acclaimed "Corrupted Air - Act VI" (2019). The work testifies to past ecological catastrophes from her research on catastrophe bonds* (catastrophe bonds/CAT bonds), a financial instrument that speculates on catastrophes, and the "sixth great extinction" that is about to be caused by humans, with three digital models of organisms that have already become extinct.
