"Form in Art―Perceiving with the Hand" is a long-standing exhibition series, dating back to the days of the museum's predecessor. The 34th edition features the stone sculptures of Taro Kitagawa, an artist from Himeji.

Born into a family immersed in the architectural stone industry, Kitagawa was well-acquainted with stone from an early age. However, Kitagawa eventually experienced an "awakening" to the material's potential and has since been dedicated to uncovering the forms concealed within the stone, using chisels and mallets to bring them to life.
