Gallery 4: In memoriam - Tomoaki Shitara
Tomoaki Shitara (1955-2021) passed away suddenly in July shortly after retiring from Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music. The exhibition features 23 works from the collection, including a 4 x 11 meter "Transparent Mural," a painting and a sculpture that depicts the world as a dome, and other works that reexamine the meaning of "seeing" the world.

Gallery 5: Picasso and His Contemporaries
Pablo Picasso's "Woman with Blue Shoulders" has returned to the museum after a series of exhibitions at other museums. This room introduces Picasso's prints, ceramics, and works by his contemporaries, centering on this work. The exhibition also features works and related materials on Picasso's influence on the Japanese art world.

Gallery 6: 80th Birthday: Masao Asai - Invisible Avant-garde
Masuo Asai (1942-1966) was an avant-garde artist from Nagakute, Aichi Prefecture. This exhibition introduces the work of this unknown artist whose diverse activities included the production of paintings, avant-garde performances, publication of a galley print magazine, travel to remote regions of Japan, and art education for children.

Gallery 7 & 8: Bunjin Hobby and Sencha (Green Tea) from the Collection of Sadazo Kimura
This exhibit introduces works from the collection of Sadamitsu Kimura related to the literati's taste for tea ceremony. The collection includes ink drawings by Chinese Zen monks of the Ming and Edo periods, nanga and literati paintings, stationery, and tea utensils, all of which were created by or reflect the interests of Japanese literati.
