Continuing from last year, the Fuji Textile Week Executive Committee will hold a hybrid exhibition "Fuji Textile Week 2022" in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, a textile production center, combining two exhibitions: "Weaving and Signs," an art exhibition featuring textiles by artists from Japan and abroad, and " Warp&Weft," an exhibition about the history of textile production and the contemporary textile scene.

The textile scene in Fujiyoshida is undergoing various changes: the focus on regional development is increasing, projects to revitalize the industry are being launched, and people who are not tourists, such as creators, are now visiting the city. This event will weave creation and networking for the creation, promotion, revitalization, and succession of textiles by mixing local industrial resources and creativity, with a focus on textiles.

This year the festival will invite artists from outside of Japan and look at textiles from a more global perspective. In addition to contemporary art, a diverse lineup of artists from various backgrounds such as fashion, architecture, and textile design will be exhibited, and the "future of textiles" will be communicated from the textile production area at the foot of Mt. Fuji.
