Fuji Textile Week is Japan's only "cloth art festival" that combines the traditional textile industry with contemporary art. The festival is located in Yoshida City, Yamanashi Prefecture, where textiles have been produced for over 1,000 years, and was created to explore new possibilities in textiles through artistic expression using textiles and cloth.

The theme of this year's event, the third year of its existence, is "Back to Thread". In the past, this area was not suitable for agriculture due to the nature of the climate and soil, so the sericulture, spinning, dyeing, and weaving processes were carried out. Later, as society underwent various changes, the import of silk was shifted to other regions, and the production of silk in the region was greatly influenced by the supply of silk. In recent years, due to the rising price of imported wool, both producers and consumers are becoming more and more concerned about materials and environmental issues.

Furthermore, in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Mount Fuji's World Heritage registration this year, there will be a "Fuji Borrowed Landscape" project featuring special access to Mount Fuji viewpoints called "Fuji Sky Roof," and a photo contest will also be held.
