Fumikiyo Nagamachi
Since 2019, Fumikiyo Nagamachi has been photographing Machida, Tokyo, where he lives, and presenting his work under the title “Old Village.”

The Tamagawa-Gakuen area began to be subdivided into housing lots with the establishment of Tamagawa-Gakuen in 1929 and the opening of the Odakyu Railway station. The area around the current station was a hilly area covered with grass and woods and was called "Shibao” (lawn) until the early Meiji period when few people lived there. Although today's streets are densely populated with residential areas, the steep, endlessly sloping roads are the same as they were in the old days. This exhibition will present works photographed in memory of this land that was once blessed with abundant nature.
