GAN-Ting-Xu is an experimental screening and live performance event exploring the intersection of generative art, glitch aesthetics and traditional calligraphy. The event showcases the collaborative work of Jimi Wen and Thomas Noya, blending human expression with AI-generated calligraphy to create new forms of visual storytelling. Inspired by the renowned Chinese calligraphy preface, "Lantingji Xu," this project challenges the boundaries of traditional ink and paper, transforming it into a digital generative art experience.

Through a series of screenings, live performances, and algorithmic art displays, GAN-Ting-Xu presents a multi-sensory journey into the evolution of calligraphy, bridging past, present and future. The performances feature projections and interactions with Jimi Wen’s Haiku technologies, where the cadence and rhymes of English and Kanji are programmed, particularly when Kanji is spoken in Chinese. Audiences will witness the interplay between human brushwork, GAN-generated forms, and glitch processing techniques, culminating in a unique artistic experience.
