Nagano Prefectural Art Museum
Finished

Artists

Genichiro Adachi
Genichiro Adachi (1889-1973, born in Osaka) is known as one of Japan's prominent mountain painters. He frequently visited the mountains of Nagano, including the Hotaka mountain range, adhering strictly to the "on-site principle," capturing the mountains before him while fully immersing himself in the mountaintop air. This exhibition will introduce Adachi not only as a painter but also as an avid mountaineer, showcasing his climbing gear such as ice axes and backpacks, along with his painting tools like palettes.
