Artists

Goo Choki Par
Goo Choki Par is a graphic design team consisting of Kyu Asaba, Kento Iidaka, and ReiRei Ishii. The path of the three files, skillfully deployed with a shared abstract concept as a cue, has produced graphics that no one has ever seen before, including the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics iconic poster, NikeLab graphics, and the logo for the latest NHK Taiga Drama “Dousuru Ieyasu," Their visual expressions, which are not bound by language, are highly anticipated as a new generation of designers representing Japan.

This exhibition presents their latest painting “Okao," a purely visual expression of their artwork activities. The work, based on the theme of "face," which can be said to have its roots in the history of expression, was formed through the repeated passing of visual images between the three members, similar to their graphic design production process, and was ultimately created using analog techniques with paints and sprays.

The "face" abstracted through repeated deformation, disintegration, and rebirth in the process of crossing images among the members, may go beyond the meaning of the known "face," which is neither who nor what it is, to highlight the core of "what is a face?" and represent the human image of contemporary society, which cannot be expressed in language.

In this exhibition, a total of 10 of their latest works will be on display at the clinic and the adjacent Blue Bottle Coffee Sangenjaya Cafe.
