Gucci Bamboo Summer

Omotesando Hills
Finished
The bamboo handle, heated and shaped into a beautiful curve, has embodied Gucci's innovative creativity and craftsmanship since it was first attached to a Gucci leather handbag in 1947. The timeless sophistication of the Gucci Bamboo 1947 line, featuring the bamboo handle, is still the centerpiece of Gucci's signature handbag collection, a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship and creativity that has made Gucci one of the world's most luxurious brands. Gucci's signature handbag collection is the centerpiece of Gucci's signature handbag collection.

For several years, Gucci has been developing projects that combine the allure of the bamboo handle and the iconic Gucci Bamboo 1947 handbag with Japanese tradition and culture: in 2021, the Gucci Bamboo House, an interactive exhibition in Kyoto, Japan; in 2022, the Bamboo Handle To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the bag, Gucci created a short film "Kaguya by Gucci," a modern reworking of "Taketori Monogatari," the oldest story in Japan, and released it online to the world.

This year, Gucci Bamboo Summer will be held at three locations along Omotesando, offering exclusive installation, shopping, and food experiences.

The main venue for the immersive experience will be Omotesando Hills. A lush green bamboo forest will appear on the atrium's grand staircase, with approximately 1,000 bamboo trees bringing a pleasant coolness to Tokyo in the middle of summer, and lanterns reminiscent of a summer festival will lead visitors to the entrance of the installation. Beyond the entrance, an immersive world unfolds, as if one has landed in a lunar world. Visitors will enjoy a variety of installations that explore the allure of Gucci's iconic bamboo handle bag.

In the theater corner of the venue, Hikari Mitsushima, who played Kaguya in "Kaguya by Gucci" last year, and Mondo Grosso will show a music video of their new song "Shadow Dance". This beautiful and mysterious work, set in a bamboo forest and the moon, was inspired by the world of Gucci Bamboo Summer.
