Hanayo + Hirofumi Isoya "Awai"

Tokyo and Berlin-based Hanayo and Hirofumi Isoya are two artists who scoop up images from everyday life around them. For this exhibition, they have combined fragments of each other's worlds to create a collection of card-shaped work that is loosely reminiscent of each other's work. The design is by Seri Tanaka, who also created the logo for Blue Flag. The three members gather on New Year's Eve to eat New Year's soba (buckwheat noodles) and then play a card game, which has been their usual way of welcoming the New Year for the past several years.
