Hidefumi Hyuga is a photographer who focuses on capturing urban and city landscapes. During the pandemic, he meticulously walked around his neighborhood in Okubo, searching for traces of the city, which he neutrally captured with his camera and presented as his graduation project at Kyoto University of the Arts.
"Japanese Motels" is a series Hyuga began working on post-pandemic. Unlike his previous Okubo series, where he explored the area on foot, in this new project, he travels by car to find subjects. However, his approach remains consistent, as he continues to capture scenes with a calm demeanor, seeking to uncover the essence of the landscapes.
