HPGRP Gallery Tokyo, opened in 2007, inherited its name from the fashion, culture, and art complex "HPGRP" that existed in Ginza for a limited time from 2003, and has been active in Omotesando and Aoyama for 17 years. Now, in conjunction with a restructuring of its parent company, Ash Pea France Co., Ltd., it will be reopening under the new name "Otherwise Gallery." The term "Otherwise" implies "something different," reflecting the gallery's commitment to seeking new value without being bound by existing norms. Adjacent spaces will also feature a cafe and shop, creating an even more enjoyable environment for visitors.

The grand opening will take place on Monday, March 18, 2024, with the solo exhibition "Recto Verso" by Hideki Iinuma, who creates single-piece woodcarvings from a single block of wood. The title, meaning "both sides" or "from the front to the back" in French, reflects the artist's presentation of his expression, positioning it as a compromise between conflicting ideologies, past and present, tradition, and innovation.
