This year, GEE2023 will exhibit works by Hina Nakano, a current student at Musashino Art University, and Natsumi Komatsu, who graduated from Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music last spring.
Nakano paints landscapes from her memory while exploring the distance between the screen and herself. The blotting of multi-colored paint evokes the passage of time.
Komatsu enjoys the "awkwardness" that is created by placing common, everyday objects in the special space of a painting. The large paintings of food can be seen as part of the landscape. Both abstract and figurative works will be on display.
