The Akikawa Valley area (Hinohara Village, Akiruno City) is one area that preserves the original Japanese landscape despite its location in Tokyo. An increasing number of people are relocating to the village to start new businesses and new lives, and an increasing number of artists are using the village as a base for their artistic activities.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of mountain experiences, including cafes with great views from the roadside, restaurants serving local foods, hiking, and hot springs in the basin, known for the quality of their water, which is among the best in the city.
