Hiroaki Nakanishi, Hajime Tanno
Hiroaki Nakanishi and Hajime Tanno are both sculptors who work in character and creature design, as well as prototype production for figures.

Hiroaki Nakanishi initially joined a major game company, where he was responsible for character modeling as a CG artist. However, driven by his desire to “focus more on manufacturing”, he later became an independent freelancer. In his sculptural work, he emphasizes the beauty of naturally formed shapes—such as those found in living creatures and organs so on—rather than artificial forms, and he pursues a balance between cruelty/grotesqueness and beauty. He also places great importance on the “image of bone structure,” aiming for both rich sculptural quality and a physically plausible range of motion.

Hajime Tanno graduated from a department of Film Studies at an art university in 2024. After working for a game company, he now balances his artistic activities with client work. In 2021, he won the top prizes in two 3DCG contests. His approach to sculpting focuses on the completeness of flow and strives for a perfect flow with the harmony of beauty and intention based on the belief that each created being has an inevitable natural flow.

Both artists are members of “Golem”, a collective of sculptors founded by artists from subculture backgrounds that aim to assert their place within the realm of fine art.

In this exhibition, deeply influenced by kaiju and tokusatsu characters and active in the industry themselves, the two artists contemplate the divinity inherent in such forms and, through the creation of a higher being [Meta], express a vision of godhood for the next generation. Please take this opportunity to experience their works.
