Hironori Kodama "Song to the Siren"

Kiryu City Yurinkan
Finished

Artists

Hironori Kodama
Photographer Hiroki Kodama, who photographed Ukraine during the war, will hold the exhibition "Song to the Siren" at the Brick Storehouse. Kodama, who has visited wartime Ukraine many times to take photographs, says, "As I visit war-devastated areas, I sense a slight change in the consciousness of the people I meet. People no longer talk much about the war itself," he says. The same may be true in the cities of Ukraine and Japan. The photos taken in various cities to learn about contemporary wars are different from so-called news photos that appeal to people's sense of misery. Through photographs taken in various parts of Ukraine, this exhibition conveys a unique perspective on contemporary war and its realities.
