Hisae Isogami
Hisae Isogami is a printmaker who uses woodblock prints to create unique works of art. She creates a layered narrative. The layers can be seen from the top or the side. Woodblock prints are also layered like layers of color. Isogami says, "The work is a story that extends deep into the heart of the picture.”

Isogami's work is a beautiful expression of a story that spreads deep into the depths and is woven together in layers. The beauty of the woodblock prints can be felt not only in their unique matiere but also in the beauty of the layered layers. In addition, Isogami has focused on the fact that by passing the paint through the plate, the colors become even more attractive than when they are released. The way the colors and tints change depending on the printing method further broadens the appeal of woodblock prints.

One of the themes of this solo exhibition is the rich "layers" expressed through woodblock printing. Among his works is a mysterious "Blue River at the Bottom of the Sea," which stretches into the depths of the ocean.
