Talion Gallery is hosting an exhibition titled "Underground," featuring works by Seiko Hihara, Haruka Hirai, Kai Maetani, and Sayuri Miyashita. Hihara creates pieces using threads, fabrics, and drawings to explore the interplay of presence with others, drawing from dialogues and relationships as artistic cues, informed by cultural anthropology and action art. Hirai explores collage-like processes, generating imagery by folding paper corners, abandoning traditional composition using forms like bent wooden panels. Maetani's photographic works capture the Maetani's presence within collective conformity, tracing his actions and body, especially focusing on landscapes and body relationships. Miyashita employs intricate pencil lines to depict light and shadow in self-referential images, questioning the conditions of painting's spatiality. The exhibition "Underground" delves into representations of spaces secluded from natural light or shielded from it.
