Isamu Gakiya is an illustrator and artist participating in exhibitions at art museums and art festivals. Born and raised in Okinawa Prefecture, Gakiya is influenced by the remnants of American culture that remain in Okinawa, and the images he creates evoke the worldview of postwar American horror and science fiction films and American comic books. The images of a mixture of time and place spun through a variety of media reflect life` amidst a myriad of values and a plethora of information in today's mature society.
