Issei Nishimura
Last March, a solo documentary titled "ETV Special: Those Who Continue to Express Themselves Unnoticed IV" by Issei Nishimura was broadcast, throwing profound questions such as "What is art?" and "What does it mean to live?" to the viewers. Unfazed by the reactions after the broadcast, Nishimura continues to maintain his creative pace, wholeheartedly embracing the constant flow of reaction-creation dynamics and continues to immerse himself in his secret studio, his cave of freedom, earnestly painting. The paintings of Nishimura, which have transformed from emotions to actions to material objects, are a shocking manifestation of "art in its raw form." This marks his 11th solo exhibition at Gallery Miyawaki after a hiatus of two years. He will unveil 36 new paintings created between 2022 and 2023.
