Japan's Mountains and Sea

Matsuoka Museum of Art
Finished
Surrounded by seas on all sides and blessed with abundant mountains and forests, Japan's nature has brought blessings to the people of Japan while sometimes unleashing its fury. Due to this relationship, the mountains and seas have long been objects of worship and hold a special significance. Additionally, for artists, the forms of nature have been ideal subjects, leading to the creation of a wide variety of artworks. This exhibition introduces paintings by Japanese artists depicting Japan's mountains and seas.
