Over 4,000 works from the museum's collection are exhibited several times a year. The exhibition features works of modern art from Japan and the West, including works by Ibaraki-based artists such as Taikan Yokoyama, Usen Ogawa, and Tsune Nakamura, and is themed accordingly.

In Gallery 1, works by Yokoyama, Ogawa, Nakamura, and other artists associated with Ibaraki are introduced, with a focus on works that evoke the seasons from spring to summer.
