The exhibition introduces painters who, upon arriving in France, confronted foreign cultures and environments. While doing so, they maintained their Japanese identity and sought new forms of expression. The exhibition features a range of artists with connections to Gifu Prefecture, including Hosui Yamamoto, Renzo Kita Ho, Tsuguharu Foujita, Yasukazu Tabuchi, Shinpei Sakakura, and contemporary artists, showcasing works primarily from the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Gifu.
