Joji Nakamura
Diginner Gallery presents the exhibition "And Then," showcasing new paintings by artist Joji Nakamura. The exhibition will be open to the public from July 6 to July 21, featuring live painting sessions throughout. While Nakamura has previously participated in numerous group shows, this marks the artist's debut solo exhibition. Nakamura's technique involves direct hand-painting on canvas, capturing people and landscapes with vibrant, dynamic strokes. Inspired by the École de Paris, Nakamura reimagines historical portraits and landscapes in a contemporary context, reflecting on what these figures might create in today's rich artistic landscape. Initially known for abstract works in black and white, Nakamura returns to this style for the exhibition, exploring expressive monochrome compositions with a sense of depth and presence.
