Yamanashi is known as one of the areas in Japan where Jomon culture developed, and numerous earthenware vessels and clay figures have been excavated from archaeological sites. Although these artifacts are of outstanding beauty, they are usually only introduced from an archaeological perspective, and not often from an artistic one.

This exhibition brings together representative earthenware and clay figures from the collections of the Yamanashi Prefecture Archaeological Museum and other locations in Yamanashi Prefecture and collaborates with photographer Tadahiro Ogawa and other developments from across the country to provide an opportunity to appreciate the artistic value of Jomon culture from a three-dimensional perspective.

Hours	9:00-17:00
Closed	Monday Open on a public holiday Monday but closed on the following day. Open on public holidays but closed on the following day (unless this falls on a Sunday when the venue will open). Closed during the New Year holidays.

Adults ¥1000; University Students ¥500; High School Students and Under, Persons with Disability Certificates + 1 Companion free.

Access

From the South exit of Kofu Station on the JR Chuo line, take the bus for Shikishima Eigyosho or Nirasaki Station or Kugawa Danchi and get off at Yamanashi Kenritsu Bijutsukan-mae. The venue is a short walk from there.
