This exhibition will showcase 100 meticulously crafted Christmas ornaments, created through intricate handwork such as embroidery and crochet, along with a video documenting the process of their creation.
The new works draw inspiration from English words extracted from the English-Japanese dictionary "The New World," a book that Kaoru Yokoo has been fond of since junior high school. The artist transforms these words into ornamental creatures, unfolding a new microcosm characteristic of Yokoo's artistic vision within the gallery space. The accompanying video captures the artist's perspective, showcasing the delicate hand-knitting process with fine needles and threads, allowing viewers to experience the magical journey from conception to realization.
