Katsura Funakoshi Exhibition

Yoshiaki Inoue Gallery
Finished

Artists

Katsura Funakoshi
Katsura Funakoshi uses camphorwood to create portraits of people with eyes gazing into the distance.

Since 1997, when Tadashi Toda (1936-2000), a traditional woodblock printer in Kyoto, was involved in the production of a series of woodblock prints, exhibitions of Katsura Funakoshi's prints have been held at the gallery in conjunction with the release of new work.

The gallery space will be filled with the presence of three sculptures (a female figure, a male figure, and a sphinx) and three new drawings as well as other works related to the sculptures. On a separate floor, 25 prints from the 1990s onward will be exhibited.
